I’m Shirley Plant — nutritionist, cookbook author, recipe creator, and sleep consultant. I’m passionate about helping YOU figure out which foods fuel your body, which ones deplete it, and how to restore deep, natural sleep without medication.
Delicious Alternatives is where I share healthy recipes, practical tips, and trusted products that make living well simple and enjoyable. I’ve taken the guesswork out of it for you.
Whether you’re dealing with Celiac disease, food sensitivities, allergies, autoimmune conditions, or insomnia, my goal is to help you uncover what your body truly needs — so you can wake up feeling energized, nourished, and finally well-rested.
My Story…
I was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, and multiple food and environmental allergies in my twenties after a tragic accident where I lost my best friend. For years I went from doctor to doctor with no real answers or reason for hope. My life was filled with pain, sadness, and anxiety. I lacked the energy or knowledge to know what to eat or how to prepare healthy recipes that avoided the foods my body reacted to. Years later I was diagnosed with chronic Lyme disease and mast cell activation syndrome. On top of that, I suffered from insomnia for 35 years, trying everything imaginable to get a good night’s rest — from supplements and sleep aids to meditation and strict routines. Nothing truly worked until I discovered the power of circadian and quantum biology. By syncing my body with natural light cycles and understanding how energy and environment affect our biology, I now sleep naturally every night — and I’m passionate about helping others do the same.
What I learned along the way transformed my health and my life forever.
Through studying nutrition, embracing healthy whole cooking, meditating, exploring circadian biology, and learning about energy medicine, I soon realized that traumas can get lodged in your tissues and contribute to illness. By aligning my lifestyle with natural light cycles, finding the right health practitioners, and discovering which foods best supported my body type, my life and health began to transform in profound ways.
I don’t want anyone to have to go through what I did.
I’m talking about the unanswered questions, the feeling of being alone, wondering what was safe to eat, where to shop for healthy allergy-free foods and how to prepare recipes that don’t take hours to make and don’t cost a fortune.
I know I can help you change your life for the better.
My passion is sharing what I have learned with anyone who is ready. I offer one-on-one nutrition coaching sessions that include a dietary assessment, customized menu plans, and personalized recipes to meet your specific needs. I am also studying quantum biology, which deepens my understanding of how light, food, and magnetism influence health — particularly when it comes to restoring natural sleep rhythms and health.
Through my online summits, I’ve gained invaluable knowledge from doctors and health experts around the world, and I’m committed to helping others use this science to achieve optimal wellness and restful sleep.
